Day at Chamonix
At 4810m Mont Blanc is the highest summit in Europe. Since it was first climbed in 1786, Mont Blanc has come to represent the spirit of conquest of the mountains and has made Chamonix an international skiing and mountaineering capital. Chamonix – elevation 1035m – nestles between two valleys and welcomes its visitors all year round. It is, nevertheless, a more accessible place in the summer. Surrounded by 3000 m peaks, the area has a distinctly high mountain atmosphere and the exploration of its unique natural heritage is open to everyone.
